Alternate counts and the quiet invalidation line

How our annotation lab teaches traders to write the price that abandons a preferred Elliott wave count.

A preferred count without an invalidation is a hope with calligraphy.

In the annotation lab we require every primary path to carry a horizontal line and a short note: “Abandon if closes beyond…” That line is often more valuable than the labels themselves. It turns disagreement into a measurable event.

Students sometimes resist writing the line because it feels like admitting the count might fail. It will. Markets are not obligated to respect our handwriting. The discipline is noticing failure early enough to protect capital and reopen the chart with a clean margin.
